Room-by-Room Designs The rooms in a house serve different purposes and should be designed for best use. As you explore each room of the house, note that there are three levels of HPL application: change the bulbs, change the fixture, and change the design. The recommended lighting designs in this section consider the purpose for each room and the activities that take place there. There are representative designs for eight of the most common rooms in the house, which are based on actual rooms in IBACOS lighting demonstration homes. They provide a basis from which to adapt a lighting design to other floor plan arrangements through the selection of fixtures and application of spacings. For each representative room, designs are shown both with dimensional floor plans and isometrics for better visualization of lighting effects. For excellent light quality, it is important that all HPL light fixtures be equipped with lamps of 80 or higher Color Rendering Index (CRI) and 3000K color temperature, see Specifications for Lamps and Bulbs. Choose a room below to access its design recommendations and view illustrations.
